Our philosophy
At Casitas Las Flores we offer our guests an opportunity to disconnect from the rapid pace of modern day life so they can relax and immerse in nature.
We are a small "family" run business located just 1 km from the center of town and situated at the end of a quiet road confined by a gentle stream and a botanical reserve. Our lush flower garden is often visited by sloths, butterflies and birds of all kinds and it is a wonderful place to just lay on a hammock and let time gently slide by.
We all had lived hectic lives before moving here and we know the importance of being able to recharge. Come join us for some rest and relaxation and enjoy Pura Vida!
In 2013 Vittorio went on holiday in Costa Rica and fell in love with the country and in particular with the Caribbean coast.
By the time he got on the plane heading home he had incorporated a company, bought a piece of land and contracted with a local builder to begin construction of a few bungalows.
He quit his position in Europe in the summer of 2014 to move to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and begin his dream job: Casitas Las Flores!
Antonella and Giorgio left their home in Italy in search of new adventures and opportunities and were drawn to the Caribbean Coast of Coast Rica also in 2014. They have fallen in love with the area and the community and enjoy interacting with people from all cultures every day here at Casitas Las Flores
Our Story
Casitas Las Flores is a small bungalow complex nestled in the jungle of the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica where you can relax, recharge your batteries and fully immerse in nature.
Our resort is located 1 km from the multi-ethnic and vibrant town of Puerto Viejo. We are only 300 meters from the spectacular beaches of Playa Negra where you can enjoy the virgin coast in its natural state and where the surf breaks every day!
Vittorio, an Italian citizen, is a chemist by trade who worked as a lab technician in Italy for two decades. In fact, he analyzed the water from our well and says it's chemically good, hard water! He loves traveling, pottering in our garden, reading, and nature.
Antonella and Giorgioare an Italian couple who moved to Puerto Viejo in 2017 looking for a more relaxed way of living. They love managing Casitas Las Flores and will always do everything they can to ensure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
The Pets:
Maya and Moka are Vittorio's dogs. Maya was adopted a month after his arrival, as a puppy. While Moka adopted Vittorio following him home from the beach. Neither have left his side since, so loyal!
Fredo, Raffo and Berta are Antonella&Giorgio's dogs. Raffo and Berta moved to Costa Rica from Italy together with them. They are old and quiet. Fredo was rescued here from the street, skin and bones; now he is fat and strong and is the guardian of the property.
